The facade of the BEYOND project features a combination of Heat-Strengthened Laminated Glass, LOW-E Insulating Glass, and Curved LOW-E Laminated Double Insulating Glass, engineered specifically for the hot, arid climate of the Middle East.
Heat-Strengthened Laminated Glass: Combines the high impact resistance of heat-strengthened glass with the safety of a laminated interlayer. It prevents glass fragments from scattering even if damaged, making it ideal for the sandy, windy conditions of the Middle East, while also blocking UV radiation to protect interior finishes and occupants.
LOW-E Insulating Glass: The LOW-E coating reflects solar radiation, and when paired with the insulating air cavity, it significantly reduces summer cooling loads, mitigating the extreme heat of the region. It also maintains high visible light transmission to ensure ample natural daylighting.
Curved LOW-E Laminated Double Insulating Glass: The heat-bending process precisely follows the tower’s distinctive curved facade, enhancing its iconic silhouette. The double insulating cavity further improves thermal and acoustic performance, while the laminated interlayer provides additional safety for this super high-rise, meeting the Middle East’s coastal requirements for wind resistance and glare reduction.
