Ginza Tokyu Plaza

Project Name: Ginza Tokyu Plaza
Project Location: Tokyo, Japan
Glass Configuration: Irregular Heat-Reflective Laminated Glass
Architectural Design: Nikken Sekkei

The facade of Ginza Tokyu Plaza features Irregular Heat-Reflective Laminated Glass, a core material that delivers the building’s “prism curtain wall” visual effect and commercial functionality.

Irregular Heat-Reflective Design: Each glass panel is custom heat-bent to form a unique rhomboid curved surface.

Combined with the heat-reflective coating, it creates a prism-like refraction effect under Tokyo’s sunlight, making the facade display flowing blue ripples that shift with light angles, becoming a highly recognizable visual landmark in the Ginza district.

Laminated Safety Protection: The PVB interlayer ensures glass fragments remain securely in place if damaged, suitable for the high-footfall environment of Tokyo’s core commercial area.

It also effectively blocks UV radiation and reduces solar heat gain, lowering indoor cooling energy consumption and mitigating the impact of summer heat on commercial spaces.

Commercial Space Adaptability: The glass’s semi-reflective properties protect the privacy of interior shops while allowing pedestrians to glimpse the interior, enhancing commercial visibility.

The irregular curved design also reduces the building’s visual weight, ensuring the transparent curtain wall blends seamlessly with the vibrant atmosphere of Ginza.
