The facade of Australia 108 features a combination of Laminated LOW-E Insulating Glass and LOW-E Insulating Glass, engineered to suit Melbourne’s climate and the demands of a supertall landmark.
Laminated LOW-E Insulating Glass: The LOW-E coating effectively reflects solar radiation, and when paired with the insulating air cavity, it significantly reduces summer cooling loads. The laminated PVB interlayer enhances impact resistance and safety, holding glass fragments securely in place if damaged to provide reliable protection for this 319-meter skyscraper.
LOW-E Insulating Glass: It maintains high visible light transmission while further optimizing thermal and acoustic performance, adapting to Melbourne’s distinct seasons to create a comfortable indoor environment for apartments and offices. Its high transparency also preserves unobstructed views of the city skyline, enhancing the landmark’s visual experience.
Alignment with Design Vision: The glass’s high reflectivity and gradient blue tone create a transparent, layered visual effect against Melbourne’s sky, which, combined with the iconic golden “crown” structure, further elevates the building’s identity and modern appeal.
