The facade of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi features a combination of LOW-E Laminated Glass, LOW-E Insulating Glass, Double LOW-E Insulating Glass, and Laminated Ceramic Fritted Glass, engineered specifically for Abu Dhabi’s hot, arid climate and the functional needs of a medical facility.
LOW-E Laminated Glass: The LOW-E coating reflects solar radiation, while the PVB interlayer enhances impact resistance, making it ideal for Abu Dhabi’s sandy, windy conditions and providing reliable safety protection for medical spaces.
LOW-E Insulating Glass / Double LOW-E Insulating Glass: The insulating air cavity paired with LOW-E coatings significantly reduces summer cooling loads.
The double LOW-E configuration further enhances thermal performance, mitigating extreme heat to ensure stable operation of medical equipment.
Laminated Ceramic Fritted Glass: The diamond-patterned ceramic fritting creates a diffuse reflection effect by day, reducing glare and direct sunlight. By night, it transmits interior light to create a soft, glowing grid facade, supporting the tranquil atmosphere of a medical building while reinforcing its iconic visual identity.
Climate & Functional Adaptation: The integrated glass system balances thermal insulation, safety, and visual appeal, creating a comfortable, stable indoor environment for patients and healthcare professionals amid Abu Dhabi’s high temperatures and intense sunlight.
