Project Name: Fletcher Hotel
Project Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Glass Configuration: Curved Digital Printed Laminated
GlassArchitectural Design: Benthem Crouwel Architects
The facade of Fletcher Hotel features Curved Digital Printed Laminated Glass, a core material that brings the building’s iconic tapered form and distinctive visual identity to life.
Form & Craftsmanship Adaptation: The heat-bending process precisely shapes the smooth, tapered curves to follow the building’s narrowing profile. Digital printing creates a gradient pattern of blue dots on the glass surface, which shifts dynamically with viewing angles and light conditions, enhancing the building’s modern and artistic appeal.
Safety & Durability: The laminated PVB interlayer ensures glass fragments remain securely in place if damaged, providing reliable protection for this high-rise structure. The digital print layer offers excellent weather resistance, maintaining stable colorfastness against Amsterdam’s rainy, windy climate and preventing fading or peeling.
Balance of Function & Aesthetics: The printed pattern reduces interior glare to create a comfortable light environment for guest rooms, while the glass’s high transparency ensures ample natural daylighting, uniting artistic expression with practical functionality.
